Let’s face it - everyone wants to grow their business online and everyone wants to do it for free. That’s not a complicated thing to conclude. However, what can get more complicated is how to do it correctly. Anyone can do it, the question is, are you going to just go through the motions, or do it right. Well, we hope in this article to give you the 5 best ways to grow your business online for free.

(1) Figure out what your business is about and write about it (aka Create Content). If you own your business, you should write about it. Write about why people need to hire someone like you to clean their cars, write about how important hiring someone to do their accounting for them is, write about how and why everyone needs a personal trainer, write about your experience as a leader of a large staff, or write about what you need to do when you only employ yourself. I think you get my point. Write it, put it up on a blog, and do it once a week. Then, share it on social media. Which brings me to my next suggestion…

(2) Take the blog you wrote (and that you put on your site) and create more content about that blog - and share it on your business and personal social media accounts. Let me give you an example: You just wrote an article about the 5 most important reasons of hiring a personal trainer. First you post that on all social accounts. Next, take those five points, go to Canva and create a graphic for each point and put that out each day. Next, research the top 10 hashtags for each area and make sure you have that with all your posts so it has the chance to become viral. Then, do an instagram live about your article. Then a tik toc and answer questions. Share on all your social accounts your are going to do it live.

(3) Have a great email program. Now that you have created your blog, send it out to your email list. BUT, don’t just send a typical email. Here, this is where you add your calls to action. Share the article? Yes. In full? Yes (as long as its not too long). But check your email before you send it. Does it have buttons for people to go to your site? If possible, do you have a button that sends them to fill out a form so they can contact you? Are there links to all of your social accounts? If you have a video to share, is it embedded or at a minimum, is there a link to it? Basically, just don’t throw an email together and send it. You are trying to sell your business and solidify your space as an expert in your field. Each time you create something, its a reflection on you and your business. So do it right.

(4) Optimize your site. This one takes more time than the others, but its worth it and it needs to be done. You need to make sure that your site is optimized for your business so that when google crawls it, it allows your business to be ranked as one that is related to your field. Many people who build their own sites, simply just build the site. They put up some pictures, write some words, and that’s it. That is never going to grow your business online. Your site needs to be using language on both the front and back end that relates to your business. It needs to have proper and correct URL’s. It needs to have language that people will search on Google on the site. It needs to have no dead links. All of this, can be done for free.

(5) Care. Caring is not as simple as what it seems. Caring means you have to do the hard work. You have to write when you don’t want to, post when you don’t want to, send when you don’t have time, work when you would rather be doing something else. But that is what it takes to not just be a business owner, but be a successful business owner. And it oder to start yourself down the right path, the question is simple - how much do you care?
